Food/Matter – the recipe box

With “Cibo/Materia – the recipe box” Giada Martinelli doesn’t want to provide a conventional collection of recipes, but wants to raise awareness through the act of creation and the recovery of the relationship man-food and man-material. Each dish draws inspiration from a place where she lived, creating an autobiographical menu that is developed on two levels: the dish’s recipe and the material that she created with the residue of its preparation. Through this recipe box, like a chef or an alchemist, by manipulating the raw materials and mixing them with each other, the user can create materials establishing a new relationship with the material created and generating a material experience.
